"Locust Lecture" on Radio K!

Minneapolis, Minn., Thursday, December 16 -- Radio K (KUOM-AM 770 & KUOM-FM 106.5), is proud to announce the arrival of a new specialty show: Locust Lecture, premiering on Saturday, January 1, from 7-9PM. Locust Lecture can be found on 106.5 FM and on the web at radiok.org.

Locust Lecture fills the void that the Descent left behind, with 2 hours of industrial, heavy metal, dark ambient, electro, darksider drum & bass, Goth and other obscure musical genre titles the hosts will "probably just make up on the spot." The title comes from repeated viewings of The Exorcist: 2. The 6 hosts (that's right, 6) of the show are DJ Nate Dogg, Uzi Suzy, Gothaholic Amy, GG La Brit, Either/Or and Prof. Clippity Clop- who is a horse, with a PhD in Cultural Studies. A new radio drama, "Robots with Tears" will also be featured on the show, featuring characters such as Edward Bottsely Jr., Lady Pricilla, XM 3500, Rags, Lord Heathcliff and more. Be sure to tune into the debut show (Saturday, January 1), as they will be giving away 4 DVD copies of David Lynch's 1990 film Wild at Heart. Radio K is proud to bring darkness and a relatively benign form of evil back to the airwaves, with Locust Lecture.

Locust Lecture is just one of the features of our "Top 7 Days of 2005", which is a week of new and special programming only found on Radio K. Stay tuned the entire week (January 1-7, 2005) for all the exciting ways we celebrate the year in music.

Radio K is the student-run radio station of the University of Minnesota. Endeavoring to provide students with broadcast experience and the Twin Cities with the best new music, Radio K broadcasts at 770 AM, 106.5 FM in the West Metro and at www.radiok.org.
