Radio highlight: New year, new programming

Radio K (KUOM-AM 770 & KUOM-FM 106.5) wastes no time beginning the new year with a variety of fresh and inventive programming. This weekend marks the debuts of three programs. "Locust Lecture" (7-9 p.m. Sat.) has six macabre-loving hosts who'll play heavy metal, dark ambient, Goth and other music genres. "Now Like Photographs," (4-6 p.m. Sundays), hosted by Chris and Joe, features instrumental music from jazz to surf rock. In tribute to America's heartland, "Grain Elevator" (6-8 p.m. Sundays) host Paul Robinson will play classic country, rockabilly and more.
