Interns Wanted!

KUOM’s Locust Lecture collective is experiencing some growing pains these days and, sadly, Kirk Cameron is not stopping by to help.

Gi Gi Le Britt has announced she is permanently stepping down in lieu of her upcoming move to Paris, Freedom. Amy Gothaholic, AKA Damyl Nitrate, AKA The Damylnatrix, is taking a semi-reduced role on the show due to her ongoing commitments as host of Rock ‘N Roll Over. DJ Either/Or is currently residing in the Fatherland/Motherland. Our current former goth kid panelist, Kyleonius, shockingly announced he was actually in fact full on goth again and promptly moved to deepest darkest Africa. That whittles down the crew to DJ Nate Dogg, TK1 and Uzi Suzi.

In short, the Locust Lecture Show is now for the very first time actively recruiting unpaid but well-compensated interns. We need volunteers to help with ongoing features like “Ask a Former Goth Kid” and our ongoing radio drama “Robots with Tears.” There are also the usual radio intern tasks: updating the website, typing up play-lists, reviewing new records, charting, tracking, reporting, booking live performances, etc. Benefits include free records, friends for life, a notch on your resume, guest list plus ones, and mixing board experience.

So if you’re interested in becoming a member of the collective, please kindly visit our contact page and be sure to also check out the KUOM Radio K website (it’s on the links page) to get more information on volunteer requirements. KUOM’s offices are located on the sixth floor of the Rarig Center on the University of Minnesota’s West Bank campus, just up the street from the Hard Times Café in Minneapolis.
